Nissan Skyline GT-R R34
日産 スカイライン GT-R (R34)
- Years
- 1999–2002
- Engine
- RB26DETT 2.6L twin-turbo inline-six
- Power
- 206kW claimed
- Price in Japan
- ¥15m–¥60m+; V-Spec II Nür cars are in a market of their own
The last RB-powered GT-R and the most expensive JDM car on the planet. Shorter wheelbase, six-speed Getrag gearbox and the multi-function display everyone remembers from the films.
What costs money
- Cloned V-Spec and Nür cars — check the chassis plate, build plate and Nissan records.
- Repainted panels hiding accident repair; get the auction sheet diagram translated.
- Odometer swaps. Cross-check service stamps against the recorded mileage.
- Heavy modification that hurts value on a car people buy as an appreciating asset.
What a good one looks like
- Grade 4 or better with an original paint reading across all panels.
- Books, tools, spare key and the original Nissan-supplied V-Spec documentation.
- Recent belt, water pump and coil-pack service with invoices.
Importing one
1999–2000 cars are now 25+ years old and clear Australia's age exemption; 2001–2002 cars still need SEVS/RAW. No age barrier for New Zealand.
